John Morris’ manager Chris Orr has revealed that the Cronulla Sharks have not signed Craig Fitzgibbon to replace Morris and that Sharks officials had confirmed Morris was in ‘pole position’ to retain his job.
Morris, Orr and Sharks CEO Dino Mezzatesta sat down on Monday to clear up both sides after reports surfaced that Cronulla had inked a deal with highly-fancied Roosters assistant Fitzgibbon.
“Dino confirmed that no agreement, terms or conditions were agreed to relating to any other coach,” Orr told SEN.
“I thought the meeting was a positive and productive meeting.
“John was able to convey his position and so was Dino. We walked away feeling very positive about the meeting.
“Obviously within the media circles it’s taken a different course but we walked away from that meeting quite positive.”
