There will no final romance between rugby league the legendary voice behind two of Australian sport’s greatest anthems with 81-year-old Tina Turner announcing she is officially stepping out of the limelight.

Many fans within the game had called on the NRL to reach out to Turner one final time but it never eventuated.

The Winfield Cup is of course synonymous with Turner’s ‘What You Get Is What You See’ and ‘The Best’.

Turner will say goodbye as she is featured in a documentary titled ‘Tina’ which will first arrive in Australia on Sunday, March 28 at 11am AEDT and then a primetime encore at 8.30pm AEDT on Foxtel Movies Premiere channel.
