Aussie rock legend Doug Parkinson died in his home on Monday night aged 74.

A singer of more than five decades – Parkinson may have been best known in rugby league circles for his Sydney Roosters theme song ‘Rooster Man’.

Just last year, the Knights were entering McDonald Jones Stadium to Parkinson’s ‘This is Our Team’.

A Sea Eagles fan who grew up on the Northern Beaches – Parkinson played junior football alongside several friends who’d go on to play for Manly-Warringah.

Parkinson spoke to Curtis Woodward on the Rugby League Hottest 100 just last year:
