Brisbane Broncos legend Sam Thaiday has suggested another home for Cameron Smith if he doesn’t in fact retire or link up with the Gold Coast.

Smith is now living in the Coast Hinterland but has made no official announcement about his future.

“The Broncos have just moved on Andrew McCullough, so he might end up at the Broncos – who knows,” Thaiday told Sporting News.

“It would be fantastic. It would be the homecoming no one ever thought would come.

“He was brushed by the Broncos as a young kid and that’s why he went to the Melbourne Storm.

“There’s a fairytale there.”
