Gold Coast Titans recruit Tino Fa’asuamaleaui says he is looking forward to clashing with “really good mate” Payne Haas in round two of the NRL season in a rematch from their spiteful duel in State of Origin.
Fa’asuamaleaui will line up alongside fellow signing David Fifita who will go up against the Broncos for the first time since leaving Red Hill.
“I think it’s good for us,” Fa’asuamaleaui said.
“We’re both young boys and really good mates. There’s no mates on the field and we’ve both had that mentality where it’s just 100 per cent when you get out there.
“It’s good for us – it’s good to have the rivalry out there and hopefully some other young boys coming through can do the same.”
Meanwhile Canterbury have parted ways with CEO Andrew Hill in another shock off-field decision by the embattled club.
