Premiership-winning Canterbury Bulldogs coach Phil Gould believes the incoming Trent Barrett should reconsider the three-year deal he agreed to due to ongoing fighting at the Belmore club.
Reported infighting continues to plague the Doggies with Gould raising the issues on Channel Nine’s 100% Footy.
“I’m sure that Trent Barrett doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into,” Gould said.
“If I was associated with Trent Barrett in any way, shape or form, I think I’d be advising him to reconsider his decision because I just think this is going to deteriorate into a real mess in the coming weeks and I just can’t see any way out.
“I just think it’s too much for him to take on at this time.”
Gould went on to call the Bulldogs a ‘toxic mess’.
