But did we really hear what we think we heard Greg say?

Geoff Toovey should get a crack at the NRL CEO job?

It’s got to be up there.

“Geoff Toovey is the sort of bloke that has a business background, he’s a smart cookie and he knows the game,” Alexander said on Fox League.

“That’s the sort of person you are looking for because it is the combination of the two.

“We haven’t had a good combination of a good chairman and a CEO that were a good mix and complemented each other.”

Toovey hasn’t coached in the NRL since 2015 and yes he has a business background but to just throw him in the mix?

We’re officially down the rabbit hole here people.

You’re only successful at the NRL if you follow the status quo…otherwise it’s a shank in the back with a well-used shiv

Every time someone mentions a name for the CEO gig it will be back page news… clicks for all!

“I heard that Russell Crowe was pushing for Shane Richardson and I don’t know if Shane is the one to run the NRL, but Shane has got the background,” Alexander added.

“That is the sort of person that you need that has invested time in the game in all those areas.

“We have got to find that person and there has got to be someone out there smart enough that has that history in the game to be able to spend time and make things happen underneath the top level.”

Greenberg WAS smart enough and he did have history in the game.
Why does it have to be a rugby league person anyway?

Shouldn’t be the best applicant for the job that understands sports, business and growing an organisation from the bottom up?
