Former New South Wales Blues enforcer Phil Daley has lifted the lid on the infamous 1988 State of Origin brawl at Lang Park which sparked the frenzied crowd into throwing hundreds of beer cans onto the field.

Speaking on the Top of the Props podcast, Daley said that after being sin-binned by referee Mick Stone, he wanted to continue the fight in the tunnel with Maroons hooker Greg Conescu.
