California Rugby League’s historic clash between the San Francisco Savage and Los Angeles Mongrel has been shifted to 3500-seat Boxer Stadium to accommodate for what is being anticipated as a bumper crowd for the inaugural match.

The showdown between SF and LA on December 7th will be the headline act which will showcase the greatest game of all to a brand new market.

Corporate seating has also been added while fans unable to make the match can purchase tickets online and they will then be donated to locals.

The CRL will run a youth clinic at 10am which will be followed by the curtain raiser between Santa Rosa and Sacramento at 1pm.

You’ll also be able to see the game streamed on Facebook.

CRL’s Tom Stevenson recently told the81stminute.com what to expect from match day in San Francisco.

“A hell of an atmosphere,” he said.

“The day extends from just the game. We are holding a youth clinic in the morning followed by an introduction to rugby league for the women. From there we have a second exhibition game between Sacramento and Santa Rosa culminating with the main game. As for expectations, the atmosphere is going to be pretty special. In the bay area there are a lot of people from countries that play league including Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Australia, New Zealand and England.

“Now we have the Saturday afternoon watching footy, similar to our countries of origin. I will be surprised if there isn’t a lot of noise.”
