Disgraced former Cronulla Sharks coach Shane Flanagan hasn’t ruled out a position at the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2020 after the NRL rubber stamped his return to the game.

Flanagan had been banished by the game for his role in salary cap breaches at the Sharks. While suspended, Flanagan continued communication with his players at Cronulla.

He will be allowed to work as an assistant for the next two years.

“I’m really happy about that (ban being lifted),” Flanagan said on Macquarie Sports Radio.

“I’m super excited and motivated to get back in to it, it’s what I love – we’ll see what the next couple of weeks will hold.

“Most clubs will do their reviews, go on holiday and back in early November so we’ll see what the next couple of weeks brings.”
