The Brisbane Broncos had just crashed to the biggest loss in finals history so you can’t blame their coach Anthony Seibold for taking a dig at his players while admitting there would be changes to the Broncos for 2020.
Brisbane were embarrassed 58-0 by a rampant Parramatta on Sunday at Bankwest Stadium.
“I’m really disappointed, I’m embarrassed. I can’t toss up any excuses for that. I’ll wear it, I’m the coach of the club so I’ll take responsibility but it’s also my job to fix that,” Seibold said.
“I’m their coach. I’ll cop it. They let each other down, they let the club down.”
“There’s a lot of good young men in there, but I want winners.
“I want good people who work hard who want to win. Like I said, it’s my responsibility to fix that. It’s going to be a long off-season, a long pre-season because we don’t play again until March. I’m embarrassed and surely the players are embarrassed.
“Surely they have some responsibility for what they dished up today but I’m the head coach so I’ll wear it.”
