Former Australian and Queensland prop Petero Civoneciva has praised the hard work of former representative teammate Matt Scott after the alarming news Scott had suffered a ‘mild stroke’.

Scott’s career is seemingly at an end after already announcing 2019 would be his swan song.

“He’s definitely cemented his place among the greats,” Civoneciva said.

“Through hard work and toughness he’s been able to reach great heights, and he’s always been prepared to roll up his sleeves and do whatever he needed for his team.

“As a teammate you felt confident whenever Matt Scott was on the field with you; you knew you were a good way to winning a game.

“When the chips were down he’d always find something to take his team forward, and what really set him apart was the fact he did it so consistently.”
