Parramatta’s brand new Western Sydney Stadium will host the very first World Cup 9’s tournament next October.

Twelve countries will compete in the men’s competition while four will be entered in the women’s.

The entire tournament will be presented on Fox League.

“We think there will be a lot of NRL players wanting to play for their country,” NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said at the announcement on Friday.

“It is something to add to the international schedule at the end of seasons so more and more people can play for their nations.”

The Eels and Wests Tigers will christen the stadium in April of the 2019 season.
