Steve Price was on a hiding to nothing when he took over as St George Illawarra Dragons coach from Wayne Bennett.

The Dragons lost several players from their 2010 premiership team and on a slide down the table.

Price was a victim or the club’s previous success.

This weekend however, Price has a chance to win a grand final of his own as coach of Warrington as they take on Wigan in the Super League grand final at Old Trafford.

“From when I first arrived, I’ve always said it’s not about me and it never will be,” Price told the Warrington Guardian.

“It’s about the players and I’ll be ecstatic for them if we can do it.

“It’s up to us to deliver on our performance now.”

Price would go down in folklore in Warrington if the Wolves can win it as they have been waiting over 60 years to win the premiership. They have also lost two grand finals in five years – both against Wigan at Old Trafford.

“Hopefully we can put on a really good spectacle of rugby and the supporters pack out the Theatre of Dreams.”

You can catch the Super League decider live on Fox League from 4am on Sunday.
