A relieved Billy Slater says it’s now time to concentrate on the NRL grand final after escaping suspension for a shoulder charge last weekend in Melbourne’s win over Cronulla.
“Now it’s important for me to focus on the game. I haven’t started my preparation for the game as yet, so that starts as of now,” he said after the decision.
“I’d also like to thank Nick my lawyer, the club of the Melbourne Storm they’ve really helped me over the last four days putting this case together. So now it’s time to think about the grand final.”
Attention now turns to Sydney Roosters halfback Cooper Cronk and whether or not he can overcome a rotator cuff injury.
Roosters coach Trent Robinson named utility veteran Mitch Aubusson in number 7 with Cronk on an extended bench in 23.
