Australian International Aaron Woods has thrown his weight behind current Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga and Norm Provan to be inducted as the next two Immortals.
The gala event will occur tonight at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
“[But] if I was going to pick – I’d probably go with Meninga and Provan,” Woods said on the Big Sports Breakfast.
“Both their records speak for themselves, and Mal’s coaching. And so did Provan. I found out the other day he captain-coached four grand finals and won twelve all up.
“It’s phenomenal what those two blokes did in the game”.
Meninga and Provan could be fighting for the second spot with Dally Messenger a short-priced favourite to be inducted tonight.
Meanwhile it appears Wayne Bennett has let slip he voted for Provan as part of a secret ballot to find the next Immortals during an interview in Brisbane.
