Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has strongly denied an NRL.com report suggesting international utility Cameron Smith was set to be axed by the club due to ongoing off-field issues.
Speaking to Channel 7 after the Storm’s loss to Newcastle at AAMI Park, Bellamy says he has never ever discussed it.
“I can honestly say that I have never been in any discussions at this club where we’ve spoken about releasing Cameron Munster,” Bellamy said.
“If they have had talks about that, our club, then I wasn’t there.”
The Storm also released a short statement via Twitter:
In response to speculation on social media, Melbourne Storm is not releasing or considering releasing, Cameron Munster from his Storm contract.
