The Cooper Cronk sideshow is reportedly over with the iconic halfback set to announce his imminent arrival at the Sydney Roosters on a two-year deal.
According to Channel 9’s Danny Weidler, Cronk will speak about his signing on Fox Sports later today.
Eyes will now turn to Mitchell Pearce who is furious his role as starting halfback at the Roosters is over.
Roosters coach Trent Robinson wants Pearce to play as a utility off the bench but Cronulla legend Paul Gallen doesn’t believe that can work.
“I think if Cooper Cronk does sign with the Roosters, I don’t think Mitchell Pearce can stay,” Gallen told Nine’s Sports Sunday.
“I don’t think the positions of Pearce, (five-eighth Luke) Keary and Cronk fit in together.
“I don’t think you can turn Pearce, who has been a halfback his whole life, into a bench player.”
Cooper Cronk has agreed to two year deal with @sydneyroosters. He's expected to do an interview with his contracted media partner Fox today.
