Brisbane Broncos legend Gorden Tallis says Anthony Milford is struggling at five-eigth and would be much more suited to the fullback position – currently held by captain Darius Boyd.
Speaking on Triple M on Sunday, Tallis believes
“I feel really sorry for Anthony Milford, he’s been thrown into the five-eighth role and he hasn’t really grasped it,” Tallis said.
“He’s a natural ball-runner and his position is fullback.
“His game management is not up there with someone like a Morgan, Thurston or Cooper Cronk and that’s his job at Brisbane.
“We’re not going to look at Anthony Milford’s career and go ‘wow what a player,’ that he could be because he doesn’t have that freedom and range.
“His strength as a rugby league player has been taken away from him.”
His comments come despite Milford winning The81stminute’s Broncos Player of the Year and being selected as five-eigth earlier this year for Queensland.
