Brett Kimmorley has trumpeted the success of the Queensland State of Origin as a major factor in this year’s finals series.
Brisbane, North Queensland and a Melbourne squad littered with Queenslanders make up three of the final four alongside the Sydney Roosters.
“Finals football is similar to Origin football in that both are won by winning the small moments in a game,” Kimmorley wrote for ESPN.com.au.

“The reason the Storm look almost assured of winning the premiership this year is that they have plenty of finals and Origin experience. These players know how to win those key moments, it is second nature to them.

“It is no coincidence that on the back of 12 years of Origin dominance, Queensland has two teams in the final four and one of the other two is Melbourne.”
