Broncos say they’re in great shape ahead of Storm showdown

Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett says his Broncos are ready for their preliminary final showdown against the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park.

The Broncos received plenty of good news this week with both Darius Boyd (hamstring) and Corey Oates (concussion) cleared to play.

“I think we are in pretty good shape,” Bennett said.

“We have got a couple of players back and we got some confidence out of last week.

“So I think it is pretty good.

“There is a lot more left in this team yet – it is just getting it out of them and doing it.”

The Broncos also have a good record in Melbourne but Bennett was fully aware of the job ahead.

“We have had our victories (in Melbourne) but they are a quality footy team and are hard to beat,” he said.

“They are a very consistent team, but we know what we are up against.

“A lot of these guys play Origin together, so they know they are up against.”

The Storm will start hot favourites to qualify for back-to-back grand finals.
