Injured Brisbane Broncos captain Darius Boyd believes five-eigth Anthony Milford can lead the Broncos to victory in their qualifying final tomorrow against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
Writing for The Courier-Mail, Boyd says Milford is stepping up in the absence of Boyd and regular hooker Andrew McCullough.
“When a leader is out it is usually seen to be a blow to a team but it can also be a positive. It makes your younger guys step up and take control,” Boyd writes.
“Anthony is taking ownership. A lot of that is from coming of age but he is also getting more control with a few of the leaders being out of the team.
“Not much fazes Anthony. He never seems to be overawed. That’s his mentality and it helps him in big games.”
The Roosters will start favourites for the match to be played in Sydney.
