Kevin Walters doesn’t want Titans job because he still has “stuff” to do

Queensland State of Origin Coach Kevin Walters has ruled himself out of the race to become new Gold Coast Titans mentor.

The Titans sacked Neil Henry this week but Walters says he still has unfinished business with the Maroons.

“I’m happy doing what I’m doing to be honest with the QRL stuff,” Walters told Sky Sports.

“I’ve still got some good work to do there – a lot of work to do there.

“I’m enjoying my stuff with Fox League. I’m just not sure the timing is right for me to step into the big bad world of NRL coaching.

“It’s a pretty vicious old world in there sometimes if you don’t get it right.”

His comments come after former Broncos teammate Gorden Tallis publically backed Walters for the job on Fox Sports.
