The Parramatta Eels face a nervous wait after replacement fullback Bevan French exited during their win over Canterbury on Thursday night with a hamstring injury.
Coach Brad Arthur is already without preferred custodian Clint Gutherson who is out for the season. Losing French for any amount of time will hurt Parramatta’s chances of finishing in the top 4.
But Arthur was optimistic after the win at ANZ Stadium.
“I think Bevan is okay. His hamstring tightened up and with a bit of precaution we took him off. In those conditions, it probably wouldn’t of been ideal to leave him out there in the heavy conditions.” Arthur said.

“At this stage, I haven’t been told any different.”
The Eels finish the season with three of four games at home against teams out of playoffs contention.
