Wigan and Hull FC will make history in February 2018 as the first English Super League sides to play for premiership points outside of Europe when the powerhouse clubs clash in Wollongong.
It comes after negotiations between Wigan and the NSW Government.
“The Wigan fans are famed for their loyal support as shown when a huge army of supporters travelled to Sydney for the World Club Challenge game with Sydney Roosters in 2014,” Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan said.
“We firmly believe that the Wigan and Hull fans will be as excited about this venture as we are and we have announced early to allow fans the chance to plan their trip to Australia.”
They will also play South Sydney and St George Illawarra respectively at a double header at ANZ Stadium.
