Under siege Parramatta forward Kenny Edwards has defended himself after a tasteless shot on Brisbane winger Jonus Pearson in the Eels win over the Brisbane Broncos.
Pearson had been hit high by Nathan Brown before Edwards hit a prone Pearson with a swinging arm with his shoulder making contact with his head.
“Simply, I didn’t think the tackle was complete,” Edwards said.
“I didn’t see the high shot Browny put on until afterwards.
“I just went in hard like I always do.

“Unfortunately Browny hit him high, which I didn’t see. I saw the replay and if I could go back I wouldn’t do it again.”
Edwards was later taken from the field for his own HIA test.
It was a black mark on an otherwise memorable night for the Eels who turned out arguably their best performance of the season.
Recruit Mitchell Moses was outstanding receiving three Steele Sports Medal points.
