Former New South Wales captain Paul Gallen says battling Queensland five-eigth Johnathan Thurston is no chance of playing Game III at Suncorp Stadium after re-injuring his shoulder in the Maroons’ 18-16 win over the Blues.
“I’ve got to be honest, I think JT’s 100 percent gone,” Gallen told Triple M.
“He looks in all-sorts. He wasn’t taking the line on in the last 20 minutes, he wasn’t tackling.
“He will not be there in Game 3, I’m pretty confident in that.”
A rampaging Tyson Frizell made Thurston’s life a living hell in the first half with the legendary playmaker struggling to handle the big Dragons forward.
“Johnathan Thurston could not take the ball anywhere near the line” Gallen added.
“He did once I think in the last 20 minutes and we saw him get absolutely poleaxed by someone without the ball and he stayed down.
“He was in all-sorts but to his credit he got up.”
