Sydney Roosters Coach Trent Robinson has taken a pot shot at Canberra’s Ricky Stuart after the Raiders boss publicly critiscised NRL coaches who complained about players being selected in representative sides.
Stuart famously refused to release his players for this year’s City v Country clash.
“Ricky recruits this team and he’s built this team to what he wants it to be,” Robinson said after the Raiders defeated a depleted Roosters on Sunday.
“That’s up to them to get selected or not.
“They had their chance a couple of weeks ago to play (in City-Country Origin) and they didn’t. That’s their team.”
“They’ve been building this team. He said a couple of weeks ago they got chased because of how well they played last year and they’re finding it tough this year,” Robinson said.
“He obviously thinks they’re one of the top teams so that’s their boat, we’ll look after ours.”
Stuart also said opposition teams were “cheating at the ruck” in an effort to break down Canberra’s lethal attack.
