They will be my mates forever: Reynolds

Exiting Canterbury Bulldogs great Josh Reynolds says leaving the Belmore club for Wests Tigers in 2018 was the toughest decision in his life.

Speaking to bulldogs.com.au, Reynolds said he’d have mates for life at Canterbury.

“I have had a fantastic time with the Bulldogs and loved every minute of it,” Reynolds said.

“The mates I have made from here will be mates forever and this is all that really matters to me. The decision was the toughest I have ever had to make in my whole life but I wish the Bulldogs the best in the future.

“It is important for the club and myself that we focus everything on the team playing good football and finishing the season strongly. To everyone who has supported me through my career at the Bulldogs I am highly appreciative and it will never be forgotten.”

Speculation mounts that the Bulldogs may have already agreed to terms with Kiwi International Kieran Foran who is desperate to return to Sydney.

Reynolds will join Luke Brooks in the halves at Wests next season.

The former New South Wales pivot conceded to The Sydney Morning Herald that he couldn’t turn away such a great offer.

“I definitely would have stayed for a little bit less at the Dogs. Everyone knows that,” he said.

“But when the difference is life-changing, how do you say no? Sometimes it’s no one’s fault.

“I don’t hate the Dogs. How can I hate the club that’s given me everything I have in life and helped me set up my future and the future of my kids one day?”
