Wests Tigers legend John Skandalis believes Elijah Taylor can return to the international scene on the back of a big 2017 season.

Taylor was an integral part of both the New Zealand Warriors and then Penrith before falling out with Panthers coach Anthony Griffin.

“He’s obviously pretty key to the team, but for me, Elijah Taylor still doesn’t get the raps that he should for the way he helps the team in both attack and defence” Skandalis told the Wests Tigers website.

“Having the full pre-season here and not trying to settle moving halfway through the year from Penrith I think will really help him as well and we’ll see ET go to another level again this year which could see him back in that Kiwis squad for the World Cup.”

Wests play Robbie Farah’s South Sydney in a blockbuster grudge match tonight at ANZ Stadium.
