Veteran North Queensland prop Matt Scott doesn’t want a close contest tonight against Brisbane after an enthralling golden point win over Canberra in round one.
But it may be wishful thinking from Scott as the Broncos and Cowboys only deal in nail biters.
“They’re typically close contests of late between the sides because you’ve got two quality teams that seem to play their best footy against each other,” Scott said.
“I hope this one’s not close as we’ve already had a golden point game this year (versus the Raiders in Round 1), but that’s the way things have panned out this year.”
Brisbane beat the Cowboys by four points in week one of the 2015 finals before their epic clash in the grand final.
Last year both games were settled by a single point.
