Look out Macarthur, the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs are on their way to Campbelltown Stadium.

The 2014 Premiers face Manly on Saturday night at the spiritual home of Wests Tigers and Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire can’t wait with the mentor admitting that the pre-season fixtures would determine his starting squad for round one.

“It’s obviously a fairly competitive squad at the moment. Training has been very competitive on the field, but once the games come, you make your decisions around where we’re going,” Maguire told the Rabbitohs website.

“There are a lot of good names there, which has brought that competitive nature to our training over these last couple of months, but the games now are going to give them a great opportunity to show what they’ve got.”

Maguire said he was excited to meet the growing number of South Sydney fans in Australia’s fastest growing region.

“I get to see all of the numbers with where all of our members are, and we have a great connection out there,” he said.

“We’re really looking forward to it and that’s the reason we’re going out there, to go out and give back to our Members.

“It’s just great for all of our Members that footy has started again, so it’s an exciting time.”

Souths have named George Burgess, new recruit Robbie Rochow while veteran Jason Clark will skipper the side.

They’ll be up against it with the Sea Eagles naming a number stars including Daly Cherry-Evans, Tom Trbojevic, Dylan Walker and former Melbourne Storm five-eigth Blake Green.
