If you think 44-year-old Warriors legend Ruben Wiki won’t be able to handle the Auckland Nines tomorrow – listen to this.

“Hoffy (Ryan Hoffman), Simon (Mannering) and Albert (Vete) were running straight at me (at training) and there is only one thing you can do – put them on their butt.”

That was Wiki’s first opposed session last week with the Kiwi icon set to come up against the likes of Martin Taupau, Suiaia Matagi and young gun Luciano Leilua in the pool stages.

“We are going there to do something special and if we get the rub of the green anything can happen,” said Wiki.

“And I’m going to enjoy the experience. My wife and kids will be there – they haven’t seen dad play for a while.”
