It has been confirmed minor premiers Sydney Roosters have accepted their invitation to play at the World Club Series in England in February 2016.

Premiers North Queensland Cowboys and runners-up Brisbane will also make the trip to the United Kingdom.

The Roosters declined a spot last season in the inaugural World Club Series but will use their match to prepare for the new season.

South Sydney, as premiers, St. George Illawarra and the Broncos represented the NRL in early 2015.

Super League grand finalists Leeds and Wigan will be there and it’s expected Warrington will be the other side included.

“It will be a tremendous start to the season,” Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan said

“The players get together and live with each other.

“It’s a group setting which is great for the players and the club. And it’s a great promotion for the club.”
