Good Mates Ready to Clash Ahead of NRL Decider

Former team-mates Antonio Winterstein and Alex Glenn are good mates. So much so Glenn is the godfather to one of Winterstein’s kids. All that gets thrown out the window on Sunday.

“Alex is one of my best mates and he’s one of the godfathers to my eldest, so we’re really close and to play in the grand final together is crazy,” Winterstein said.

“It definitely going to bring the best out of each other and it’s going to be awesome.

“We come from the same area back home and it’s a dream come true, and when I left the Broncos it’s like I never left that friendship behind.

“We’ve just continued to build on it.”

Winterstein says his family will be flying down from Queensland for the decider in which the Cowboys will be gunning for their maiden NRL premiership.

“I’m just going to take it as a great opportunity to hopefully make history and be involved in the first Cowboys’ grand-final winning team.

“All my family in Brisbane is coming to the game and the enjoyment they’re going to get, on grand final day, is definitely going to lift me and make me want to play at my best for them.”

Winterstein played almost 50 games for the Broncos before linking with the Cowboys.
