Canterbury coach Des Hasler says giant prop David Klemmer could be the wildcard that sends the Bulldogs through to Week Three of the finals.

The Bulldogs play the Roosters tonight at Allianz Stadium.

Hasler said State of Origin had fast tracked the bookend into the upper echelon of front row forwards.

“It’s been a great experience for Dave [Origin],” Hasler said.

“He doesn’t overcomplicate things, which is the most refreshing thing about him, Dave just gets on there and gets the job done.

“He knows there are still parts of his game he needs to address though and that’s the exciting thing about watching a young player such as David come through the ranks.

“Origin has been really good for him and he’ll build on that.”

While Klemmer was excited about the forward exchange with the Roosters pack, the representative prop sounded out the tricolours’ backline.

“You just got to watch their outside backs, they’re all class,” Klemmer said.

“They’re a red-hot side and come Friday it’s going to be very exciting.”
