The Sydney Roosters have one hand on their third straight minor premiership but aren’t taking nothing for granted against defending premiers South Sydney who they face on Friday.
“It’s good to be in this position, but it’s a whole different ball game when you get into the finals,” Roosters centre Blake Ferguson said.
“I’ve been there once before and we came up short, but for us it’s about getting better every week.
“It sounds cliche, but it’s got to be cliche cause that’s what we’ve got to do.”
Hooker Matt McIlwrick added that the Roosters were wary of the Rabbitohs after their previous meeting this year.
“We were pretty dissapointed with that performance,” he said.
“They got out to a flying start, we kind of clawed our way back into the game enough to win it, but we just couldn’t hold on.
“We’ve improved alot since then, and we’ll put our best foot forward this weekend.”
