Former Brisbane Bronco Ben Ikin, a premiership winner with the club in 2000, says Anthony Milford has the ability to surpass legendary halfback Allan Langer and that Milford is already on-par.
“He’s on the same level as an Alfie Langer,” Ikin said on Fox Sports’ NRL 360.
“They are very similar at the same age.
“Alf was very instinctive and played what he saw; his game management came later on as Milford’s will too.
“He’s got X-factor on the field and star power off it.
“He plays a brand of football that not just kids but everybody likes to watch.
“It takes all types to make up a footy team but you can’t deny the fact it’s the guys that can do what Anthony Milford does is what gets the turnstiles clicking over.
“He’s a cleanskin. He’s really humble, well-spoken guy that some point in the future is going to be on billboards.”
Langer won four titles with the Broncos in the 1990’s before retiring in 2002.
