South Sydney veteran Ben Lowe has announced his immediate retirement with injuries crueling the 30-year-old’s 2015 campaign.

“Due to injuries I’ve had to make the decision to retire from football immediately,” Lowe said in a video posted on Souths’ website.

“It hasn’t been the easiest decision to make but after long conversation with family and loved ones it was best for my welfare and best for my family as we head into life after football.”

Lowe played 117 games since his debut in 2008.
