St George Illawarra big man George Rose is considering retirement and may use a good end to the season for the Dragons to call time on his career.
“The training is getting harder and harder and I’ve had a series of niggling injuries” Rose told Rugby League Week.
“But the Dragons have been great to me – hopefully we can have a good finish to the season and that will give me a good excuse to quit and not have to worry about next year’s pre-season!”
Rose is much-loved by footy fans around the country and believes his unique frame causes problems for opposition defenders.
“Players are used to tackling these chiselled frames of guys like Sonny Bill (Williams) and Sammy Burgess,” Rose continued.
“I’m different to what people are used to and I think they have trouble adapting to that. They sometimes struggle getting their arms around a big, cuddly bloke.”
