Despite missing out on Daly Cherry-Evans earlier this year, there is light at the end of the tunnel for the Gold Coast Titans with rookie half Kane Elgey continuing to improve throughout a tough 2015.

Elgey starred last weekend in their victory over Canberra and was pivotal again on Sunday when they upset St George Illawarra.

Legendary playmaker Brad Fittler believes Elgey is the future of the club but needs a few good men around him.

‘He’s very good at evading,” Fittler told sportsfan.com.au.

“They just need now some people to run over the top of people.

“He’s young; he’s going to get better.

“They need to put good people around him.”
