As the years tick by and the NRL seasons fly passed, more and more players are checking out the grass on the other side.

But is it always greener?

This list is here to make you say, “did he really play there?”.

ADAM MACDOUGALL
6 GAMES
If you don’t remember ‘Mad Dog’ at the Rabbitohs in the mid 2000’s what chance have you got of remembering MacDougall’s six first grade appearances for the Roosters in 1995?

PAUL LANGMACK
3 GAMES
Let us put this in perspective. Langmack played over 300 first grade games but only three of them came for the Roosters. He signed for the Bondi club in 1999 but after only a couple of games quickly retired.

BARRY WARD
2 GAMES
‘Bustling’ Barry ended up a cult hero at Canterbury but prior to that he struggled to hold down a regular spot with stints at the Bulldogs, a year at Illawarra and a memorable 1995 where he played two games for the Roosters.

NATHAN BLACKLOCK
5 GAMES
Joining Barry Ward in the Roosters class of 1995 is St George Illawarra’s legendary winger Nathan Blacklock. We doubt there were many backflips in ’95.

DALE SHEARER
11 GAMES
‘Rowdy’ Shearer is a Queensland legend who spent five memorable years at Manly. He then spent most of the 1990’s jumping from club to club including a year at the Roosters in ’97.

ERIC GROTHE Jr
11 GAMES
‘Guru Junior’ debuted for the Eels in 1999 but could only manage 15 games. He then moved to the tricolours where due to injury played 11 games in two long seasons.

HARVEY HOWARD
3 GAMES
Remember Wests Magpies’ pommy battering ram of the late 1990’s? Howard went on to win a title with the Broncos. His first shot in Australia however came in 1993 where he played three games for the Roosters.

SCOTT SATTLER
1 GAME
Satts thought he’d warm into his 2003 premiership win at Penrith with stints at the Seagulls, Roosters, Crushers and the Chargers.

PAUL VAUTIN
34 GAMES
Okay so ‘Fatty’ racked up 34 games for the red, white and bluesters. But not even Vautin can name a single good memory that came out of his time at the Sydney Football Stadium.
