Australia will be on the search for a new coach with Tim Sheens headed to England to become Director of Football for the Salford Red Devils.
This leaves the Kangaroos without a head coach.
Former Canberra coach and Kangaroo representative David Furner has been an assistant to Sheens in recent years but another name has been thrown up by Triple M’s Matt Johns.
Speaking on Triple M’s Grill Team, Johns says current Manly coach Geoff Toovey would be perfect for the role.
“My mail is that Geoff Toovey will be the Australian coach,” Johns said.
“Of course it’s been documented that Trent Barrett has signed on at Penrith, so I think Geoff Toovey would be a great choice.”
