North Queensland’s greatest ever prop, Matt Scott, says age won’t be a problem for him or team-mate Johnathan Thurston heading into the busiest part of the year.
“I know there was talk that a few weeks on the sidelines with a fractured eye socket [in Origin II last year] really refreshed me,” Scott told The Courier Mail.
“I did feel good towards the end of the year.
“If I can see it’s best for the team and my health, I won’t be silly about it.
“But I’m used to playing a lot games through the year and I hope this year is no different.
“I’m an older player and JT is in the same boat — he has a couple of years on me.
“We manage the workloads well at the club. I’m pretty confident we will both be fine.’’
