Maloney On The Move After Performance, Reynolds Struggles Again

Josh Reynolds and James Maloney were on opposites sides of the field on Sunday in Wagga Wagga for City and Country respectively but both had the same goal, prove their worth to New South Wales coach Laurie Daley.

One did it in style while the other continued his frustrating start to 2015.

Maloney was the orchestrator for Country while Reynolds was placed on report for two separate incidents in a forgettable day for the Canterbury five-eight.

“Jimmy was in everything,” Country coach Trent Barrett said after the win.

“We got caught out at the start of the game but he really steadied the ship, especially with his kicking.

“Being our sole kicker there was a lot of pressure on him. But he handled it well.

“He did his Origin chances no harm.”

City coach Brad Fittler agreed with Barrett.

“When you talk about handling the pressure, Jimmy Maloney was a standout.”
