The Newcastle Knights are back on track according to Brett Kimmorley.

While the Wests Tigers weren’t at their best, Newcastle scored the 22-12 win on Sunday ending a horrific losing streak.

“Joey Leilua was really good for Newcastle amid rumours that he’s heading off to Canberra with teammates not happy with him, and him not happy with the club,” Kimmorley told Fox Sports.

“I thought he put his head down and played some really good football, along with Tariq Sims who is finally starting to return to some of the best football we saw from him at the Cowboys before he broke his leg.

“The Knights are building slowly but they’ve still got plenty of work to do to get the big crowds coming back to Hunter Stadium.”
