New South Wales captain Robbie Farah says the memory of losing eight straight State of Origin series has fueled his passion and will help the Blues tonight at ANZ Stadium.
“That hurts. That’s what spurs you along to get back there and change that,” Farah told Fairfax.
“All those deciders. Up there in 2012, it was a pretty emotional game for me. Cooper Cronk kicked that field goal from 40 out. I thought we were coming home strong … Then he pulled that field goal out that won them the series. That one in particular I can’t forget.
“It took a while to recover from.
“That’s why I have no doubt they’d hate us for what we did to them last year.
“They’re a champion team and they’re not going to take this laying down. They’ll be hurting.”
