New Gold Coast signing Daly Cherry-Evans has received support from an unlikely source in former Manly team-mate Anthony Watmough who is now at Parramatta after a reported rift between himself and Cherry-Evans.
“I think Cheez was mis-managed,” Watmough told Triple M NRL.
“He was shopped around, he was thrown to the wolves. He got hung out.’’
“I know he has copped a bit of a hiding but I have got to go in the defence of the kid because if George (Mimis – Watmough’s manager) had’ve done that I know I would have called him straight in for a meeting.”
