Star Newcastle centre Dane Gagai has reportedly verbally agreed to return to the Brisbane Broncos in 2016 after a conversation with Brisbane mentor Wayne Bennett who previously coached Gagai at the Knights and at the Broncos in Bennett’s first run with the club.

It comes on the back of Gagai’s brother Jacob returning to the Queensland capital for this season.

An earlier report from The Courier-Mail quoted a cautious Gagai who refused to speculate on his future.

“I have obviously thought about things and thought about what I will do but for now I will just keep it to myself” he said.
