Rugby league legend John Sattler has died aged 80.

The iconic former Australian and South Sydney forward played 197 games for the Rabbitohs and famously played in a winning grand final against Manly with a broken jaw.

Tributes flowed for a giant of the game who passed away on Monday.

John Sattler was a legendary player who was tough on the field but a true gentleman off it.
